Going by his “4-5 weeks for West End” + tech week, I’d guess that rehearsals will start right after he gets back from ACE Arizona, maybe the week of the 14th or the 21st at the latest. That would be six clear weeks before opening.
I would guess we’ll have casting announced first thing in the New Year if not before. Biggest issue will be Christmas holidays, as you don’t want to have the announcement lost in the holiday rush.
On a related note, my Adaptation prof last year spent his lecture on comic book adaptations showing a bunch of Ragnarok promo videos (he was getting into the idea that adaptations not only take into account the source material, but also the audience). Best class ever.
