ATG responded to someone about the U30 £15 tickets by telling them the tickets won’t be released for a few months and to follow Jamie Lloyd Co for updates. I assume job seekers allowance is unemployment, so it’s nice that currently unemployed people are eligible for the tickets along with key workers and under-30s.

Yes – it’s actually a really good idea. And a really good idea to stagger the sales out, so it’s not a case of ‘who has the fastest computer’ at the beginning of booking. That and the requirement for ID/tickets being sent really close to the date will help prevent exorbitant resales online.

Though places like Viagogo are cashing in right now.

An announcement prior to 4 months is not the worst, but not the greatest either (guess that’s why they put an ad on ES). I am going, 10+ hours flight, but I’ll be able to stay only 4 nights, which sucks. I saw quite a number of Tom fans I know struggle with their schedule & hesitate. Pinter is quite well known, but Betrayal, not as famous as Birthday Party or Caretaker. Martin Freeman’s Dumbwaiter (quite famous play) of P@P season (Jan-Feb), still has available seats. Betrayal might be similar.

Dumbwaiter would kill to have Betrayal’s sales…

You can see how many Betrayal tickets are still available? I have no chance to go just got curious. Btw, his Tokyo tickets were sold out in minutes and the expensive Ace Arizona packages are selling pretty well so far.. I guess his demand/popularity is not that bad. 🤔

The London Theatre Direct site has the theatre layouts, but the available tickets don’t overlap with what’s still available on ATG – not sure exactly why, or where LTD gets their seats.

I’ve just checked on the theatre.direct site too, where you can actually see what seats are available. The theatre seats 796 and the most I’ve seen available for any day are 22 – these being the most expensive, or restricted, as you say. Some days only have 2 or 3 left. So I think about 70,000 seats sold. To be honest I wasn’t expecting so many, so fast, considering the play itself isn’t very well known. Hamlet had more ‘priority’ booking days too, I think.

Hamlet had 9 priority booking days, yes – and I think (??? I wasn’t really paying attention to BC’s Hamlet at the time) that you could still get memberships during the priority booking period, which you couldn’t with Betrayal.

Just checking the FAQ page – they are also holding back the £15 for Under 30s, etc until later – so there will still be tickets for those groups available later.

It seems as though there are plenty of tickets. Not nearly as bad as the rush on Benedct’s Hamlet

I’m not sure ‘plenty’ is the correct term. Just checked on London Theatre Direct, and most of the seats available are either restricted view, or insanely expensive – or matinees. So, if you’re prepared to be flexible, you should be good. But realistically, if you’re selling 800 seats and only have 40 available, that’s still a 95% sellout.

But yeah, that’s to be expected – Pinter isn’t as accessible as Shakespeare, it isn’t HAMLET, etc.

I’m sure the rest of the Pinter plays would kill to have these sales.
